Occasional Duties


Keeping in view the ever changing business scenario and your own career enhancement, Multi Skilling / Multi Tasking is seen as an imperative. As a result, short period/ intervals or long term lateral movements to other areas such as Kitchen, Stewarding, Bell Desk, Airport Rep., Front Office, Employee Restaurant, Reservations, Communication Centre, Training etc. have been included in the service design of the hotel operation.

You shall, thus, be ready to accept such movements with or without any prior notice.

General Purpose of Job:

To assist Spa Director/Supervisor in maintain the highest standard of professionalism in all aspects of daily operations. To ensure all treatments are carried out to the highest standards in accordance with established procedures and standards; The incumbent also contributes to the revenues of the cost center through active selling of the retail products available. To be the link between the guest and the spa; to oversee the guest needs and provides personal service in assisting the spa needs of the guest. To be responsible for gathering preferences and information so the guest recognition is ensured for his/her next spa visit; to be responsible for maintaining the high standards of the hotel when fulfilling his/her duties; to keep a critical eye on spa cleanliness and have a thorough knowledge on the functioning of spa features, equipment and therapies.

Main Duties:


1. To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times.

2. To have a full working knowledge and ability to perform all duties and tasks listed in his/her job description. Please note that Job description can be reviewed and changed on a regular basis reflecting change in trends, guest expectations and operating philosophies.

3. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.

4. Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.

5. Responds to guest inquiries on Spa & Resort, Spa Menu, Fitness Programs and other information regarding the facility and services of the Spa.

6. Must attend intensive spa training on massages, facials, and body treatments based on the standard and quality of the Resort.

7. Assist with demonstration/events as required.

8. Actively participates in pool side promotions.

9. To always be punctual and prepared in advance for treatments.

Inspects treatment room at the start of the shift and maintain standards through out day, ensuring that the set-up of is in accordance with established standards and to ensure that there is adequate supply of guest amenities, towels, facial robe and other supplies.

10. Monitor and maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

11. Checks and replenishes amenities of the spa area & treatment rooms at the start, end and if necessary during her/his shift.

12. Perform opening and closing procedures according to the shift.

13. Checks the condition of spa facility and equipments and reports any damage immediately to the supervisor.

14. Escort guests to requested area (Changing Area, Treatment Room)

15. Diagnose customers needs and recommends body/Face treatment based on guest preference and skin type.

16. Responsible for maintain the high standards of treatments and service at all times.

17. Explains to the guest the benefit and procedures of the treatments, provides knowledge of products being used of its active ingredients.

18. Applies treatment procedures as per set standards and training given, to the highest standard, ensuring necessary details are given sufficient attention, to ensure a comforting & comforting experience for the guest.

19. Uses correct quantities of products in accordance with established measurements using correct quantities of product as specified in training.

20. Post treatment, collects used linens, cleans up the treatment rooms, and ensures complete set-up ready for the next appointment/session.

21. For in-room service appointment, ensures all materials and supplies are prepared for treatment & undertakes all necessary preparations for the in-room spa service

22. Recommends cosmetic retail products properly explaining what the product is for & benefits. Offers lifestyle information to the guest & how to follow up the treatment back home, prepares a home care prescription for guest, recommends further Spa services.

23. Recommends and up sells additional spa treatments

24. At the close of operating hours, does inspection to ensure that spa treatment rooms are in the standard set-up and ensures correct storage of all Spa equipment storage

25. Participates in inventory of products located at the dispensary, treatment rooms & boutique.

26. Anticipates guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Maintain positive guest relations and the privacy of the guest at all times.


1. To help update the guest history in the system accordingly to information collected

2. To help monitoring the stock inventory and to follow up on pending issues with support of logging system

3. Updates and maintains customer information records, such as beauty services provided.


1. To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

2. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.

3. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

4. To maintain high standards of the hotel when fulfilling his/her duties

5. To maintain a calm, courteous and gracious attitude at all time

6. To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in all other departments.

7. To be very familiar with the Room division/Spa policies and procedures

To attend and contribute to all staff meetings, Departmental and Hotel training as scheduled and other related activities.

8. To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Spa supervisor.

9. To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self control.

10. Maintains good relationships with colleagues and contributes to team spirit. Cooperates and coordinates with colleagues whenever necessary.

11. Interacts with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.


1. Diploma or Certificate of training from Accredited College/Beauty School

2. Minimum 3 years Experience

3. Excellent Retailing Skills

4. Self-motivated and able to work as a TEAM.

5. A strong passion for the industry and strong work ethics

Occasional Duties

  1. To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
